The Chagford Art Trail is a specially curated, self-guided route running as part of this year's Devon Open Studios.

It connects seven distinct artist studios within the historic stannary town of Chagford and its immediate surrounding countryside. This unique local event offers art lovers and holidaymakers a rare opportunity to step inside private creative workspaces and meet the makers.

Make a Day of It:
Food, Drink & Shopping - We have explicitly designed this trail to function as a complete and relaxing day out on Dartmoor. Alongside the studio visits, our trail map guides you directly through the heart of Chagford and it's independent pubs, cafes and shops.
Lunch & Refreshments - Take a break at our local cafes and historic pubs for a delicious lunch or afternoon cream tea.
Independent Shopping - Explore Chagford's thriving boutique clothing shop, independent bookshop, artisan food producers and unique local retailers as you walk between studio venues.

How to Take Part & Practical Info
Cost: Free entry to all 7 participating artist studios.
Where to start: The trail recommends a route but is divided into three phases to enable any combination to suit your own journey plan. The Devon Open Studios iconic yellow directional arrows will aid your navigation between studios.
Trail Maps: Physical printed trail maps and venue flyers can be picked up in Chagford and around Dartmoor.
Parking: Main public parking is available at the central Chagford Square car park, offering easy walking access to the town-centre venues.
